IMPORTANCE OF THE POLL

PART-15.ORG needs your assistance

The current industry of providing license exempt wireless broadband to consumers is not a bunch of rag-tag, 5 watt amp yielding, pringles can, unlicensed = unregulated, unprofessional spectrum eaters.

Projections of the current state of the industry are at best tainted by unsupported industry analysis with flawed data. Even the FCC does not know who and what is out there regarding License Exempt Wireless devices.

Manufacturers and resellers can provide limited data such as sales of specific equipment and to whom. However, with off-the-shelf availability, their information is incomplete.

Over the last few years, there has been remarkable improvement in technologies, training, availability of equipment, reduced tower sitting rent, and lower cost CPE. Not to be overlooked, and a major force in the advancement of all of the above improvements, is the involvement of the Federal Communications Commission to enhance and foster the growth of the license exempt wireless broadband industry. The President of the United States has established a significant plan to ensure broadband availability to all Americans.

Some of the reasons for making this polls results public are:

1. Reduce cost of equipment. Manufacturers can estimate production schedules and by doing so, can reduce the cost of manufacturing and in turn reduce the cost to the WISP.

2. Indicate to the Federal, State and Local governments the magnitude of the deployment of license exempt equipment in the United States.

3. Provide assistance to the Federal, State and Local governments to institute better laws and regulations to assist in license exempt broadband deployment.

4. Provide Venture Capitalist and Investors a true picture of the industry so they can take a closer look and possibly bring forth investment capital to assist the needy WISP.

It is imperative that you complete all 10 portions of the poll, or the data will be as incomplete as everyone else's. Although the polling system will allow you to that the poll more than once, we monitor the poll by IP address and will be removing all duplicate votes in the end. Please be honest and only vote once.
